Greenwell Point is a pleasant coastal village that has a long tradition as a popular fishing destination and is also renowned for its oyster growing. Both recreational and professional fishermen use it as a base with access being available to the abundant fishing waters off the coast. The oysters are internationally acclaimed and are available to purchase direct from the local oyster farmers. Greenwell Point hosts the largest dawn service in the Shoalhaven on ANZAC Day, attracting thousands of people. Greenwell Point, a fishing village with a population of 1,200 people is nestled on the banks of the Crookhaven River. It is famous for its fresh oysters, fish and other seafood with fresh produce being available from a number of suppliers. The towns take away and eat-in food outlets specialise in local seafood. Boat launching facilities provide access to the river for fishing and other water activities; hire craft are available. Fishing is also popular from the wharf or riverbank. Charter boats are available for offshore fishing bottom and game fishing. Greenwell Point is serviced by a general store, news agent, post office, seafood café, bottle shop and the local hotel and Bowling Club have restaurants and often live entertainment on weekends. The township of Greenwell Point is located 15 km at the junction of the Shoalhaven and Crookhaven Rivers near where the river meets the ocean and accessed from the Greenwell Point Road. Nowra the major retail and commercial centre is a 10 minute drive.






The historical townships of Berry and Kangaroo Valley are 25 mins drive with attractions such as antiques, boutique shopping, coffee shops, galleries, markets, restaurants and wineries etc. Easy drive too many other interesting venues such as the Air Museum in HMAS Albatross, west of Nowra or Beecroft Peninsula (15mins) for a days outing.
